Hey Insta-fam, thought I'd pop on over and show my face... well my hair actually!

Bear with me, this could be a long post BUT PLEASE READ IT 🙏 because I need a favour 😂
I usually shy away from posting pictures of myself, but I've committed to something epic and the clock is ticking 👩‍🦲

Some of you may know my story (DA/DV) but I won't bore the rest of you with the details - let's just say two years ago I took stock of my life and jumped with both feet into the unknown.

But I'm here! Stronger, and immensely grateful. So I wanted to mark the date by doing something that scares me even more than staying in my old life!
Two months ago, I committed to SHAVING MY HEAD 😳 Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY HAIR! It has served me well all these years and I've had a lot of fun with it.
But it's time to do something for someone else. It's time to give back.

So on 25th April 2021 I'm going to be shaving it all off.

My hair will go The Princess Trust, who I'm sure will make something beautiful for a little Prince or Princess who desperately needs it.

All the funds raised will go to @eveabuse
The Eve-Domestic Violence and Abuse Refuge helps women and children fleeing DA to rebuild themselves and their lives - people like me who leave with nothing but basic possessions, mentally drained and a fear of the unknown journey ahead. (I was lucky, I had good support)
Their work is so very much needed - the stats were crazy to start with - 2.3m adults (doesn't even include kids!) affected in March 2020, but with the pandemic, this just got worse.

A beautifully busy few days working on two totally

A beautifully busy few days working on two totally different themes.
I'm always thankful to my customers who give me free-reign to do what I like. The first was a chocolate drip cake - now as much as I love both chocolate and drips, it turns out it was for a 30th birthday. So I changed things up a LOT!! and went with something random - 3-tiers, coconut&lime, white, grey and black to match the birthday boy's career and lifestyle and apparently their home-decor!
I didn't know that bit until I delivered it 😂 You can learn so much by just having conversations with your customers.
The second was for lilac cakesicles. No theme, just something simple. I chose to add a fun cake and create a mermaid theme.
Creating the canvas is always a fun - and I get to eat all the scraps 😂 Plus all my cakes are covered in chocolate ganache 😋

Playing at wedding cakes - I made this one just-for- fun! I really needed to practice making wedding cakes, flowers etc, so i baked up all the layers and decorated them. What i didn't realise is that someone had to eat it!
Thankfully I have really fabulous neighbours and work colleagues, because seriously there was enough to feed an army!
